Shop location & shipping

Mortal Coil is run out of Oakland, California.
Shipping is free within the States.
I also ship to Canada with a delivery fee.
I may add international shipping in the future.

Available items in shop are ready to be fitted to you and then shipped. This usually takes less than a week - but - this is a one person operation! I do have another job and classes, so precise / predictive shipping is unfortunately not something I can offer.
Thank you for your understanding!

Refunds - Refittings - Rentals

If anything arrives damaged I will repair at no cost.
Please take a photo of any damage immediately upon arrival and email me as soon as you can so I can make you a shipping label.

If you do not love your piece I can offer a partial refund if shipped back undamaged within two weeks of delivery date. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and a restocking fee of 20% will be deducted.
Chains are unlikely to be damaged in shipping but more delicate adornments such as pearls and pendants will need to be wrapped carefully.

If your piece does not fit properly I am happy to resize it for you. Buyer is responsible for round trip shipping.
To avoid this please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about how to get your measurements right on the first try.

Mortal Coil is also working on costume rentals for larger orders or bigger body pieces. Stay tuned!

Materials - Stainless steel & Brass

Stainless steel is considered hypoallergenic and safe for those with skin sensitive to metals. It resists scratches, rust, and oxidation. It's a good choice for everyday wear, especially for people who work outside or live in humid climates. It can get wet! Wear in the bath, pool or ocean.
Requires minimal cleaning or polishing to keep its shine.
It is the most environmentally-friendly metal option in the jewelry world. In the production process, the amount of energy used and waste produced is dramatically less than in the production of other metals for jewelry.

I also work occasionally with brass for those who prefer gold tones. Brass does oxidize and requires more frequent cleaning to keep its illustrious gold shine - However cleaning brass is simple and the process can be a fun alchemical activity! There are many products and methods but the most available is watered down ketchup from your fridge. Gently brush this onto your chain with an old toothbrush. Within just seconds you’ll see the shine of the brass return! Don’t over do it, just a small amount of ketchup and a short, gentle scrub is all you need. Wash with soap and rinse thoroughly.
